Delhi translates as entrance gate and several powers have started their rule from here over the fertile plains of the river Indus and Ganges . Delhi has been capital seven times since the beginning of civilisation in India . The afternoon emphasises the glory of the mughal dynasty as depicted by the red fort of emperor shah jahan , surrounded by a 16m high wall , on the banks of the holy river jamuna . The biggest mosque in India , jama masjid , can accommodate 25,000 devo tees . Let the tingling atmosphere impress you as a first touch with a fascinating strange world!
New Delhi
900 YEARS OF INDIA
Elegant and 72 mtrs high stands the minaret qutb - minar , built in the 12th century within the complex of the mosque " qutb - ul - dinar . In the courtyard a rust - resistant iron column from the 4th century awaits to be touched by you for fame. IN THE PINK CAPITAL OF THE PRINCELY STATE
In the afternoon we reach jaipur , capital of Rajasthan , the state of princes and palaces and for many visitors the centre of the richest and most beautiful of Indian states . Jailer , given the name , pink city because of its red city walls and the red facades of all the houses , is certainly most colourful and elegant. It is a city built rectangular in symmetric blocks as it is written in the old literature of city planning , shilpa shastra.

A short drive brings us to amber , the old capital of the jaipur rulers . At a hill , overlooking the fantastic landscapes , stands the huge palace city dating back to the 16th century . Climb up in style high on an elephant , not quite as comfortable today as in royal times . The city palace of jaipur , the observatory and the hawa mahal (palace of the winds ) are the highlights of our day's programme.
Jaipur - Fatehpur Sikri - Agra
THROUGH THE BIRD SANTUARY INTO THE CITY OF TRIUMPH
Bharatpur is famous for its national park , where, depending on the season a variety of rare and beautiful migratory birds can been seen . The stop is fatehpur sikri (victory town ),a palace complex built by emperor Akbar the great and abandoned after only 13 years . Impressive is the ldings , for example the triumphal arch is 53 m in height , the highest in India .

THE PERFECT BEAUTY
The world famous Taj Mahal is in reality even more inspiring than the best photograph can express. Besides , Agra offers more : the red fort where the builder of the Taj Mahal , shah jahan was held prisoner by his own son , looking with fond memories at the tomb of his beloved mumtaz mahal . The mausoleum of itmad - ud - daulah is one more jewel in the architecture of the mughals.

Varanasi - Delhi
SUNRISE AT THE GANGA
At the crack of dawn we witness the sunrise at the holy river . A boatride takes us along the ghats (steps) , where numerous pilgrimes are engaged in holy rites while taking their baths standing in the river , facing the rising sun , Brahmins motionless under the umbrellas , yogis doing unreal looking exercises , dhobis washing clothes and from the open air crematoria the smoke strikes skywards - an incomparable picture of the vibrant land that India is . Here we are witness of an imperturbable faith which has not changed in its basics since the birth of Hinduism . After returning to the hotel for break- fast we visit sarnath , an important Buddhist town where Buddha gave his first sermon . Afternoon flight to Delhi .
